ABOUT NICOLETA DRAGAN

An author, psychotherapist, and mental health educator with over a decade of clinical and teaching experience.

I approach emotional wellbeing from a holistic perspective, emphasizing the vital role education plays in mental health.

BEHIND MY WORK

I’ve dedicated my professional life to guiding others toward emotional wellbeing. I hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology, a credential in school psychology, and a doctorate in educational leadership. Over the past decade, I have worked as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and mental health educator in a variety of settings.

Currently, I hold the position of mental health program specialist for a large school district in Southern California. In addition to my work in schools, I teach psychology at a local community college, lead mental health workshops, and speak on topics such as self-regulation and self-compassion.

My work is informed by the science of attachment, shame, self-compassion, and neuroscience, as well as lived experience—both my own and that of the individuals I’ve supported.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed the profound impact of these concepts in everyday life. I have also conducted and published a research study examining the links between early experiences, shame, capacity for emotion regulation, and levels of self-compassion, providing valuable understanding of how our earliest experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves.

Whether through writing, teaching, or therapy, my mission is to empower individuals and communities to understand and nurture their emotional wellbeing.

I create spaces where wellbeing is openly explored and nurtured, offering practical ways to develop self-regulation and self-compassion in everyday life.
