ABOUT NICOLETA DRAGAN
An author, psychotherapist, and mental health educator with over a decade of clinical and teaching experience.
I approach emotional wellbeing from a holistic perspective, emphasizing the vital role education plays in mental health.
BEHIND MY WORK
I’ve dedicated my professional life to guiding others toward emotional wellbeing. I hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology, a credential in school psychology, and a doctorate in educational leadership. Over the past decade, I have worked as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and mental health educator in a variety of settings.
I am a licensed psychotherapist and currently hold a position as a mental health program specialist for a large school district in Southern California. In addition to my work in schools, I teach psychology at a local community college, lead mental health workshops, and speak on topics such as self-regulation and self-compassion.
Over the years, I have witnessed profound transformations that begin with the understanding and practice of self-regulation. While self-regulation is not a fix for life’s problems, it is a skill that can help us move toward a more intentional and balanced future.
My work is informed by the science of attachment, shame, self-compassion, and neuroscience, as well as lived experience—both my own and that of the individuals I’ve supported. I have also conducted and published a research study examining the links between early experiences, shame, emotional regulation, and self-compassion, providing valuable insight into how our earliest experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves.
Whether through writing, teaching, or psychotherapy, my mission is to empower individuals and communities to understand and nurture their emotional wellbeing.
I create spaces where wellbeing is openly explored and nurtured, offering practical ways to develop self-regulation in everyday life.
